Coursework and Research Proposal Requirement
Students enrolled in the PhD program are mandatorily required to complete the prescribed coursework and submit a 2,500-word research proposal.
However, students who have completed a thesis as part of their first degree are deemed to have already fulfilled the coursework requirement and demonstrated prior research experience. Such students will be exempt from submitting a new research proposal and may directly proceed with further development of their existing thesis under the top-up route.
Thesis Structure
A six-chapter thesis structure is a mandatory requirement for all PSBU PhD candidates. In addition, students must adhere to the formatting specifications prescribed by PSBU. These requirements will be clearly outlined in the guidelines shared with all PSBU PhD students.
Defence Presentation
A defence PowerPoint template will be provided to students, and the presentation must strictly follow the sequence prescribed by PSBU. Detailed instructions regarding the presentation format will also be included in the student guidelines.
Publication Requirement
All students are required to publish their research in the PSBU publication journal by paying a publication fee of USD 60. The PhD degree will only be awarded upon submission of valid proof of publication.
Furthermore, it is advisable not to promote EBCRI to students enrolled in the dual-degree EBU–PSBU program, as PSBU strictly prohibits publication in any journal other than the PSBU Journal.
Ethical Approval
The Ethical Committee structure will remain unchanged, and no external member from PSBU will be included in the committee.
Where ethical approval is required, the approval certificate must be included in the pre-defence submission package. In cases where ethical clearance is not required, an ethical exemption letter issued by EBU must be provided as supporting evidence.
